Greg Wellesley's path to watching the Denver Broncos play the Los Angeles Charges in LA was anything but easy.
Back in November, Wellesley told 9NEWS he had purchased tickets and travel accommodations for the Sunday game, but then it was flexed by the NFL to Thursday.
The Sunday afternoon kickoff on Dec. 22 became the first-ever game flexed to Thursday night.
"First thoughts are, 'Our vacation is ruined,'" Wellesley said.
On Thursday, Wellesley's attitude had changed. He was able to change his flight and hotel arrangements. He even spoke to 9NEWS from sunny southern California.
"It's just kind of all in the past now. We did what we had to do. We moved some flights, we moved the hotels and now here we are in Los Angeles. It's a beautiful day, it's beautiful weather, the sun is shining," Wellesley said.
Inside SoFi Stadium, Wellesley said the stands were filled with orange and blue.
"A lot of orange on the flight, attendants yelling, 'Go Broncos!' Lots of excited fans on the plane," he said. "I feel like Broncos Country has traveled well, as usual."
Regardless of the final score, Wellesley said his path to LA was well worth the road traveled.
Denver would clinch a playoff spot with a win against the Chargers.
