The Town of Morrison will soon be turning over law enforcement duties to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office. A spokesperson for the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said on Wednesday that the Morrison Police Department will be dissolved and the sheriff's office will handle policing responsibilities full time. The arrangement is expected to take effect on Jan. 1. It's an extension of a current arrangement, the spokesperson said. The sheriff's office has been handling nighttime law enforcement for Morrison since 2020.
