The Israeli military carried out more than 800 strikes, not just in southern Lebanon, near the border with Israel, but also in the Bekaa Vally, a Hezbollah stronghold in the east. According to Lebanon's health ministry, at this point more than 270 people have been killed in these Israeli strikes. Prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he is determined to change the security dynamic in the north of his country and to create the conditions for tens of thousands of Israeli citizens to return back to their homes along the Lebanese border.
