At Granby Elementary the staff are welcoming students to a new school that’s been built bigger and better for exactly what teachers need. With flex space, more classrooms and some outside fun that’s now inside. With kids taking the stairs to the second floor but then taking this indoor slide to get back down. Even some teachers use the slide, and the principal says it’s been a great way to have fun while keeping kids interested in school. "Our teachers use it in a variety of ways sometimes they use it to transition to their specials class or lunch sometimes they use it as an incentive for individual kiddos it really depends on how they want to incorporate the slide into their day," said Kelly Martin, principal of Granby Elementary. The school cost around $40 million to build and is part of a bigger bond initiative voters approved to make improvements to schools all over Grand County.
