Description
Colorado AG Phil Weiser is among more than 3 dozen attorneys general calling for a similar warning that cigarettes have on social media.
The bipartisan group sent a letter to congress Wednesday to ask for the social media warning. The letter cites research that links Facebook, TikTok and other apps to youth depression, anxiety and suicidal thoughts. It also says "social media platforms have demonstrated an unwillingness to fix the problem."
Those companies testified about their safety in congress earlier this year. At that time, companies argued they have enough safety tools in place to protect their users.
