Crews are making progress on a wildfire burning near Deer Creek Canyon road, the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said Friday. The Quarry Fire grew by 50 acres, to 480 acres, Friday, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, but it grew into open space away from homes. The sheriff's offce said crews managed to connect the hand-dug containment lines to the bulldozer lines and improved containment to 10%. The fire line on Deer Creek Canyon Road is holding.
