Adams County leaders say the jail is reaching the end of its lifespan. The more than 40-year-old structure is deteriorating rapidly, forcing the county to shell out tens of millions just in maintenance and repairs. Now, they’re talking about building an entirely new detention center, and they’re asking taxpayers to help pay for it.
