Three children were taken to the hospital by ambulance after a deck collapsed during a party in Evergreen Saturday afternoon. Elk Creek Fire Department said crews responded around 1:50 p.m. after the deck collapse was reported during a child's birthday party in the 8500 block of Armadillo Trail. Firefighters initially said about 50 people were on the deck when it collapsed. On Sunday, the fire department said they were told that while there were 40 to 50 people at the party at one point, there were only "a handful" of people on the deck when it collapsed.
