Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay is recovering and urging everyone to wear their helmets after he suffered a “very bad” biking accident, sharing photos of his massive black and purple bruise on his chest. In a video posted online Saturday, Ramsay stressed the importance of bicycle safety - specifically helmets -- and said he was lucky to be alive after the biking accident in Connecticut. "You've got to wear a helmet, I don't care how short the journey is," Ramsay said, showing off his bruised ribs to the camera, as he appeared to be on the set of Fox's "Hell's Kitchen." A Fox representative said production has continued. "I'm lucky to be standing here. I'm in pain, it's been a brutal week, and I'm sort of getting through it," Ramsay continued, before wishing fathers a happy Father's Day. In the video, he also thanked the staff at Lawrence and Memorial Hospital in Connecticut for his treatment as well. "Bike accidents are a common injury we see in the Emergency Department, especially during the summer months when people are more active. Wearing the right equipment, especially a helmet, can significantly reduce the likelihood of serious injury," the hospital said Saturday in a prepared statement.
