Description
Drivers headed to Colorado's eastern plains on Interstate 70 in Arapahoe County are going to be met with a literal roadblock after a Amazon Prime delivery truck and an SUV crashed into one another and caught fire.
The crash happened in the eastbound lanes of I-70 east of Byers, east of the Denver metro area, according to a map from the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT).
The eastbound closure spans from Byers on the west to Deer Trail on the east.
Drivers headed east will need to exit I-70 in Byers and get on Highway 40 to get around the closure. They can then get back onto the interstate in Deer Trail, the sheriff's office said.
The sheriff's office said all of the people inside the SUV were taken to a hospital. There's no word on their conditions. Officials did not immediately release the status of the semi truck driver.
