Description
The Otero County Sheriff's Office and several other agencies were conducting a water rescue Wednesday in the Arkansas River near La Junta.
The sheriff's office posted about the search before 7 a.m. on the social platform X. At 12:21 p.m., Otero County Sheriff Shawn Mobley posted to Facebook that the search was continuing for a 19-year-old man later identified as Devlin Cambeul.
The La Junta Fire Department, Colorado Parks and Wildlife and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers were assisting in the search. The search included personnel, boats, aircraft and drones into Bent County, Mobley said.
On Wednesday evening, the sheriff's office said search operations had been suspended for the day but would resume Thursday morning.
