Description
A leak of hazarous materials was contained following a traffic accident in Aurora Thursday morning. Aurora Fire Rescue and Aurora Police Department responded to an auto accident near Airport Boulevard and 22nd Avenue around 6 a.m. Thursday that involved hazardous materials.
Aurora Fire Rescue said its Hazardous Materials Team identified a saddle tank containing approximately 100 gallons of fuel that was leaking. Fire crews successfully contained the fuel leak, utilized absorbent materials to address fuel spillage, and safely removed the remaining fuel from the tank.
One person was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Aurora Fire Rescue said the scene was handed over to the Aurora Police Department for investigation.
