Interstate 70 is closed near Golden Thursday morning. I-70 is closed in both directions between Exit 254 - US 40 and Genesee and Exit 260 - C-470, on the west side of the Denver metro area. The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said the closure involves an accident involving a fully engulfed tanker and up to six vehicles. The office asks the public to avoid the area for several hours. Both directions of I-70 will likely close for firefighting efforts.
