Suncor is suing the state so it will be able to pollute water near the oil refinery in Commerce City. The company is fighting the most restrictive water quality permit issued for the plant. It was put in place last month. The lawsuit filed this week says the permit violates the law and is unnecessary. Suncor takes issue with nearly a dozen of the state's requirements from reducing salt levels in run-off to the state's arsenic standards.
