The carmaker Hyundai said it first started noticing an increase in thefts in 2021 because of a social media trend. Now Hyundai owners are being asked to drive out to Empower Field to get free anti-theft technology and software installed. Specifically, this event is for people who own a model between 2011 and 2021 with a traditional key start engine.
