Description
Winter Weather Advisories will go into effect for the high country Friday night through noon Sunday. Mountain areas can expect up to a foot of new snow, along with gusty winds. Watch for reduced visibility to create hazardous travel conditions!
Saturday, don't let the cooler air catch you off-guard! Afternoon highs will drop nearly 30 degrees, with highs maxing out in the middle 40s. Additionally, we'll continue to watch for strong winds, with gusts up to 100 mph possible in the foothills!
To the west, mountain snow showers will move eastward, bringing a rain/snow mix across the northern half of the front range/eastern plains, during the late morning to afternoon hours. No accumulations are expected in the front range/eastern plains, but the foothills could see a small dusting throughout the day.
Saturday night, winds stay gusty, with another night of mild lows, in the middle 30s.
Our windy stretch continues, Sunday, but sunny, dry weather returns. Afternoon highs climb toward seasonal numbers, in the upper 50s/lower 60s.
Monday and Tuesday, we'll watch for the back-end of this system to bring more seasonal temperatures and slight rain chances, both days.
We'll start to dry out and warm back up as we move through the next workweek. Highs return to the 70s by next Friday.
