Evacuations and pre-evacuations were ordered for homes around two fires that sparked Friday afternoon in Pueblo, according to the sheriff's office. The evacuations for the Vision Hills Fire were ordered at 1 p.m. for homes within a half-mile of 1945 Overton Road, the Pueblo County Sheriff's Office said. As of 2:55 p.m., the fire burning near Jerry Murphy Road and Vision Hills Parkway was 52 acres. Containment was 20%. Smoke and flames were visible on a Colorado Department of Transportation traffic camera a few miles from the scene. About 4:50 p.m. Friday, homes in the 1000 block of Palo Alto Street in the Salt Creek neighborhood were under pre-evacuation due to a fire near the Evraz steel mill.
