Description
A teen who was driving a stolen SUV that crashed Saturday morning on Interstate 225 didn't have a license, Aurora Police said on Monday. A 15-year-old girl was killed in the crash.
The driver, a 17-year-old boy, was taken to a hospital with serious injuries. Five teens in the stolen SUV were ejected after the vehicle rolled. Four of the teens were taken to hospitals, and another teen was released to their guardian at the scene of the crash, Aurora Police said.
The driver's condition and the conditions of the other teens is not known.
The crash occurred about 7:30 a.m. Saturday on I-225 near Alameda Avenue. Police said opened and unopened alcoholic containers were found in the SUV.
Excessive speed is also being considered a contributing factor in the crash, police said.
Investigators have been in contact with the Arapahoe County District Attorney's Office to determine whether charges in the crash are warranted.
The name of the girl who died has not yet been released by the Arapahoe County Coroner's Office.
