Pope Francis presided over palm Sunday mass in St. Peter's square, at the Vatican. It marked the start of the Holy Week for Christians, the most sacred week of the church’s calendar when Christians across the globe prepare for the celebration of Easter. Pope Francis has had some health challenges, which has led him to cancel some appointments and to stop reading speeches. The pope didn’t take part on the Sunday palm procession as he has had some mobility problems for some time and has been using a wheelchair for almost two years – which the pope says is very practical.
