Colorado Parks and Wildlife unveils a plan to manage the mountain lion population along the front range and has asked the public for feedback. Dozens of people showed up to last night's public meeting in Golden to tell CPW about their experience with mountain lions. This wasn't their first public comment session, they also held one last week in Evergreen. CPW is glad to see so many people getting involved in their plan to manage the mountain lion population. "We've seen really great turnout at the meetings that we've held so far from a diversity of people who live in Colorado," said Kara Van Hoose, CPW. "Lions do have really broad appeal to people who live in mountain lion habitat, people who are ranchers, people who hunt, to people who are just learning, learning or looking to learn more about the species." Parks and wildlife officials said they hope to release a final plan for managing the mountain lions in May. Then they'll give the public 30 days to give them feedback on that plan. There will be more CPW meetings to attend in person or virtually.
