Description
Climate activists threw soup Sunday on Leonardo da Vinci's masterpiece. Video posted online showed two women go under a barrier protecting the "Mona Lisa," and then throwing soup on the glass that protects the painting. The women were wearing shirts that read "Riposte Alimentaire," which means food response and is the name of a food sustainability activist group in France that says the government is breaking its commitments to protect the climate and food sources.
The Louvre told NBC News that no damage was done to the "Mona Lisa."
