Description
A few slushy inches of snow accumulation are likely this morning south and west of Denver, with little or no accumulation in Denver.
Temperatures are right around freezing on this Friday morning, meaning it'll be tough for the snow to stick and most roads below 6,000' in elevation (most of the metro area) should be mostly wet.
However, a localized band of heavier snow just east of Denver International Airport appeared to drop a quick 1-2 inches of snow on I-70 near Bennett and Strasburg, and some heavier bands are possible in Castle Rock, Parker, Bailey, and Conifer. That's where 2-6 inches of snow could fall, with most of it probably on colder surfaces like grass and car tops.
The snow mostly clears out by noon with a few snow showers left over on the south and west sides of town early this afternoon. Skies clear tonight ahead of a warming pattern that'll start on Saturday.
Highs spike to near 50 degrees in Denver on Saturday, and we'll be near 60 on Sunday and most of next week under a big ridge of high pressure. That'll keep our weather dry, warm, and calm statewide through late next week.
