Community organizer MiDian Holmes and Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser gave statements after a jury found Peter Cichuniec and Jeremy Cooper both guilty of criminally negligent homicide in the death of Elijah McClain in 2019. Cichuniec was also convicted on one count of second-degree assault. Cooper was acquitted on both assault charges.
