A male victim is dead and another person was taken into custody after a homicide Friday night in Wheat Ridge, according to police. The homicide is not related to the slaying of Wheat Ridge shop owner Peter Arguello, police said. The Wheat Ridge Police Department said their officers responded around 8 p.m. Friday to a residence near West 38th Avenue and Independence Court after a 911 caller reported a person had been shot. Officers arrived and found the victim dead.
