Nova is one lucky dog – rescued Sunday after hikers found the pup on a mountain hiking trail suffering from a broken leg, Jeffco Sheriff said. A couple of hikers in Meyer Ranch Park found Nova on the trail and couldn't find an owner anywhere. The dog was injured and scared and bit one of the hikers as they tried to carry the pet down the mountain, the sheriff's office said. That's when they called the sheriff's office for help. One of the hikers stayed behind with Nova as the other hiker went down the mountain to find help.
