A driver died in a crash Sunday night after colliding head-on with an SUV while driving at excessive speeds and crossing the double yellow line in an attempt to pass another vehicle, the Brighton Police Department said Monday afternoon. The crash happened just after 11 p.m. Sunday near the intersection of South 27th Avenue and Kestrel Street in Brighton, according to a news release. A 38-year-old woman and three young children were in the other vehicle and were taken to a hospital.
