The Leon County Sheriff's Office has identified the accused gunman in the deadly shooting on the Florida State University campus Thursday. Sheriff Walter McNeil named the shooter as 20-year-old Phoenix Ikner, an FSU student. He is the stepson of Deputy Jessica Ikner. LCSO says she has been with the force for 18 years. She is pictured in several LCSO social media posts. Phoenix Ikner was listed online as a member of LCSO's Youth Advisory Council for 2021-2022. LCSO said Jessica Ikner left a service weapon unattended and that gun was found at the scene. Property records show that Phoenix Ikner lives with his mother and father in Tallahassee.
