A powerful EF-2 tornado tore through parts of Central Florida on Monday, damaging several homes in its path, the National Weather Service confirmed.
Officials said the tornado touched down around 9:35 a.m. in Lake Mary with winds up to 120 mph. At 300 yards wide, the tornado traveled about four miles, knocking over trees, ripping off roof shingles and damaging homes.
The Seminole County Fire Department shared photos showing at least one home completely collapsed on Blue Iris Place in Longwood. Firefighters said the two people who were inside the home were not injured. Other photos show fallen trees blocking roads in the neighborhood.
No injuries or deaths have been reported.
