After staying at The Plaza Beach Resort on St. Pete Beach for months, FEMA says those who are no longer eligible need to go.
Donald Deal's home was hit hard by Hurricane Helene, so he was staying at The Plaza Beach Resort for the last few months. That is, until Thursday morning, when he was told he had to leave.
"I had an extension until the 25th. The very next day, got the notice that I had to be out by 10 a.m. today, and it's uncertain as to where I'm going," he said.
But he's not the only one. FEMA asked six households living at The Plaza Beach Resort to check out this week because they no longer met FEMA's Transitional Sheltering Assistance (TSA) Program.
10 Tampa Bay spoke to a woman who said she was shaken up and has no idea where she'll sleep tonight.
"I just I don't know what I'm going to do. I really don't. I wanna stay in Florida, but I may be forced to go somewhere else right now. I don't know," she said.
