Description
St. Pete police said they recovered a bicycle believed to belong to missing 17-year-old Allister Nasr.
It was discovered Wednesday, south of Gandy Boulevard, off San Martin Blvd. The area near Weedon Island Preserve is surrounded by thick vegetation and a public works construction site filled with sand, mud and mangroves.
“Since 1 p.m. Wednesday [when] the bicycle was located, we've had dogs out, we've had boats out, marine boats out, we've had drones up,” said St. Petersburg Police public information officer Ken Knight, adding overnight they will use thermal imaging drones. “We’ll have that up and looking for Allister hoping that that will help us locate him because it's important that he comes home after being away for so long.”
Nearly two weeks ago, Allister left his Shore Acres home on that white Schwinn cruiser bike with a dark backpack. Police said he was last seen near The Canterbury School of Florida, dropping that backpack for a red one and taking off.
