Description
St. Pete police say they have found the white beach cruiser bicycle belonging to a missing 17-year-old who was last seen nearly 13 days ago.
However, the search for Allister Nasr continues.
The bike was found at around 1 p.m. on Wednesday in the area of 94th Ave. North and San Martin Blvd. NE, just south of Gandy Boulevard. Police say the discovery led to an "intense search" for Allister by air, land and water in the Weedon Island Preserve area.
A Florida Missing Child Alert was officially issued on March 7 for Allister. At the time, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement said he was last seen leaving his home at 10 a.m. March 1 on Bayou Grande Boulevard NE.
He is described to be 5-foot-9-inches with black hair and brown eyes. FDLE said he was last seen wearing blue shorts, a gray sweatshirt and white shoes.
Initially, police said Allister may have been carrying a black backpack. However, he reportedly dropped off the black backpack on a nearby school campus and switched to a red backpack.
"It's important that we find Allister as soon as possible," the police department wrote in a statement. "He's considered an endangered, missing person because evidence collected after his disappearance raised concerns about his personal safety."
Anyone with more information about his whereabouts is asked to call FDLE at 1-888-356-4774 or the St. Petersburg Police Department at 727-893-7780.
