A woman was arrested Saturday after a deadly stabbing at a Lake Wales home. Just before 6:30 a.m., officers from the Lake Wales Police Department responded to reports of the stabbing at a house on Ashton Palms Drive. After arriving, police said they found a 71-year-old man suffering from a stab wound to his chest. The man was taken to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries, authorities said. Investigators identified the suspect as 49-year-old Mihaela Mallen and took her into custody. Officials say she is charged with second-degree murder. An investigation is ongoing.
