Description
Two new ramps will be opening between I-75 and U.S. Highway 301 at the 301 interchange, the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) announced in a news release.
The new U.S. 301 southbound on-ramp to I-75 southbound is scheduled to open at 6 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 20, officials said.
"Motorists traveling on US 301 southbound will turn left at the new signal (under the I-75 overpass) to use the new on-ramp to I-75 southbound," FDOT stated in the release.
The department added that the old U.S. 301 southbound loop ramp to I-75 southbound will be permanently closed.
At 6 a.m. the following day, FDOT crews will open the new I-75 northbound off-ramp to U.S. 301.
"Motorists traveling on I-75 northbound will use the new exit ramp over the Manatee River to access US 301," officials said. "The Exit is approximately 1 mile south of the old Exit."
Drivers are being asked to be extra cautious and to follow signs and road markings as the new ramps are opened.
