Description
Tampa Fire Rescue worked to put out a blaze Wednesday afternoon at the Hyde Park Cafe.
Crews responded to the South Tampa bar and restaurant just after 3:30 p.m. to find heavy smoke coming from the roof of the building.
They used several hose lines for an interior attack on the fire and an aerial ladder truck to access the roof. The fire was under control within 25 minutes, according to the agency.
Photos show smoke along W. Platt Street and a firefighter using a circular saw to cut through a door in the building.
Tampa Fire Marshal investigators said no one was in the building at the time of the fire and no civilians or firefighters were hurt. They're still working to find out what caused the fire.
W. Platt Street was closed from S. Melville Avenue to S. Rome Avenue for an hour and a half but has since reopened.
