Description
Sarasota police are investigating a hit-and-run crash that left a 5-month-old and 2-year-old dead and their mother in critical condition.
The crash happened around 8:30 p.m. Monday on U.S. 301 and 7th Street.
Police said the 29-year-old woman and her two kids were hit by the driver of a white 2013-2018 Lexus ES300 who left the scene. All three were transported as trauma alerts to a hospital, where the children died from their injuries.
Investigators are now asking for the public's help in finding the car involved in the crash. It was last seen going southbound on U.S. 301 and making a U-turn in the area of 5th Street before turning eastbound onto 7th Street.
Police say the car has damage to the right front quarter panel and windshield.
