St. Peterburg police are investigating a double shooting that sent a 40-year-old man and his 10-year-old nephew to the hospital. It happened just after 7 p.m. Tuesday near 1424 15th Street South. Police say the man and his nephew were outside when they were shot. The child is said to be in "very critical" condition but stable. The man's injuries are not life-threatening. Investigators do not believe the pair was targeted. Kenny Baez works at The Burg Food Mart and knows the family involved. "For something like this to happen, a tragedy, we know these kids," Baez said. "They come to our store. They're our customers. They're like family.
