Lakeland police are working to find a suspect after a person was shot Tuesday night near the Publix corporate headquarters. The shooting happened on New Tampa Highway during an argument between two people who knew each other, according to police. The person who was shot was taken to Lakeland Regional Health via ambulance for treatment. "There will still be a police presence in the area as officers attempt to locate the known suspect who is believed to be in a residence," a Lakeland police spokesperson told 10 Tampa Bay.
