As the investigation continues into Wednesday night's tragic mid-air collision near Washington, D.C. that claimed the lives of 67 people we are learning of a local connection. Among the victims was 40-year-old Mikey Stovall, a devoted husband, father, and beloved baseball coach whose parents live part-time in Venice. Mikey Stovall's mom told our CBS affiliate in Fort Myers that they were traveling to Southern Maryland to be with his wife and son. She said Mikey was returning home after a duck hunting trip in Kansas when their plane collided with a military helicopter. According to his mother, Stovall was looking forward to a snowboarding trip with his 11-year-old son Jake. "There were seven wonderful guys there. Mikey did not have one enemy "He was the life of the party and he loved everybody," said Christine Stovall of Venice. "I knew what time he should've landed. I text him. Did you land yet? I didn't hear anything. I said Mikey are you there and I didn't think anything of it. When I called they verified that he was in fact on the flight by giving his name. They told the family members they were no survivors," she said. Friends of Mikey Stovall from St. Mary's Ryken High School have taken to social media to share their grief over the loss. A GoFundMe page has also been set up to help his wife of 11 years, Ashleigh, and the family.
