Survivors, ready? Season 48 of CBS' quintessential competition reality show returns next month. "Survivor" 48 will feature 18 new castaways competing to outwit, outplay and outlast each other, including a Tampa Bay-area contestant we can root for each week. Per usual, players will compete in three tribes of six as they test their physical abilities, social skills and mental stamina on the beautiful islands of Fiji. The new season of "Survivor" premieres at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26, with a special two-hour episode on 10 Tampa Bay (CBS). After the premiere, fans can look forward to 90-minute weekly episodes at 8 p.m. on Wednesdays. This season's crop of contestants includes a stunt performer, a fire captain, a pizzeria manager and, of course, our hometown contestant — a flight attendant living in St. Petersburg.
