A 37-year-old man from Lakeland was killed Friday night after Florida Highway Patrol troopers said he was hit by a car while changing his tire on the side of I-275 in Pinellas County. The hit-and-run happened around 8:19 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 24, troopers said in a news release. The 37-year-old was traveling south on the highway before his tire flattened north of 4th Street North.
