Description
A man who was suspected to be driving under the influence hit a pedestrian in downtown St. Petersburg, police said.
Michael Aoun, 34, was driving a red Chrysler minivan just after 8 p.m. Wednesday on Dali Boulevard South East when he lost control and swerved into two bicycle lanes. He hit a statue, light pole and a man who was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Officials said the 37-year-old victim was working in the median lane putting down flags for a Grand Prix monument.
