Description
Police have identified a suspect in a hit-and-run crash that left a 26-year-old man dead on Saturday night. Now, they're trying to find out where he is.
Julio Torres, 28, is facing numerous charges including vehicular homicide, driving with a suspended license and leaving the scene of a crash involving death, the Bradenton Police Department said in a news release.
The crash happened around 11:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 18 as the suspect was driving a black Infinity sedan "at a high rate of speed" on northbound 15th Street West, officers said. Torres allegedly lost control of the car before hitting a pole and striking the 26-year-old, who was reportedly sitting or sleeping in the grass near the sidewalk at the time.
Torres allegedly left his car and ran away before officers arrived.
