More than 30 endangered Florida panthers died in 2024, marking the most since 42 died in 2016.
A 2-year-old male panther was hit by a car on Dec. 26 in Lee County, which was the 36th death of the year.
Most of them were killed by cars, with 29 of the 36 panthers listed with vehicle as their cause of death.
