A special meeting will take place in Belleair Beach on Thursday evening to discuss the impact on the Pinellas Suncoast Fire & Rescue District following the resignation of its chief last month. Fire Chief Jeffrey Davidson submitted his resignation letter on Dec. 23 following an investigation into allegations of discrimination and creating a toxic workplace. "While I have valued my time at PSFRD and the opportunities provided, this decision comes after much reflection and is made under significant duress," the fire chief's letter read, in part. Thursday's meeting, held by the Board of Commissioners of the Pinellas Suncoast Fire & Rescue District, will address Davidson's resignation and its impact on operations. The district's website also says the meeting will serve as an opportunity to adopt a "protocol for seeking and evaluating applications for a successor and selecting a successor."
