St. Petersburg police are investigating after a 12-year-old boy was shot Monday night at an apartment complex. Officers were called just before 6:30 p.m. to the James Park Apartments on 3rd Avenue North. They arrived to find the boy with a gunshot wound. He was transported to the hospital in critical condition. Police said the shooting was "accidental" but did not provide further details. The investigation is ongoing.
