A 17-year-old boy has been arrested in connection to the 15-year-old boy shot and killed last week in St. Petersburg. Officers received a call just before 6 p.m. on Dec. 18 about a person shot in the area of 11850 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Street N., the address of the TGM Bay Isle apartment complex. They arrived to find 15-year-old Tomohnd Newkirk with a gunshot wound. He was transported to Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital where he was pronounced dead. On Monday, police announced that a 17-year-old had been arrested and charged with second-degree murder in Newkirk's death. The investigation is ongoing.
