Description
The floundering deal with the Tampa Bay Rays on building a new state-of-the-art stadium in St. Petersburg could have some renewed life after a city council vote on Thursday.
St. Pete City Council voted 4-3 to approve more than $300 million in funding for the Rays stadium.
The vote was originally slated for Nov. 21, but after Rays Co-President Brian Auld told the city council the deal for the new stadium and massive St. Pete redevelopment was effectively dead, largely blaming delays from Pinellas County commissioners, councilmembers instead decided to delay their vote, too.
