The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) is investigating a deadly shooting involving a Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office deputy Saturday night. Around 9:15 p.m., deputies stopped a driver for an obscured tag on West Hillsborough Avenue and Elliot Drive in Tampa, the agency said in a press release. Body camera footage released by HCSO on Sunday night shows, in part, deputies approaching the car. The agency said one of the deputies, 26-year-old Jared Mincemeyer, reportedly asked to see the suspect's hands, to which he did "briefly." HCSO says the suspect then reached for his gun and began to exit the car. The deputy reportedly backed away from the man before shooting him.
