Description
The Florida Highway Patrol is searching for a driver who allegedly hit a 16-year-old boy with his car before taking off Thursday morning in Hernando County.
The incident reportedly happened around 8:30 a.m. at the intersection of Monarch Street and Mariner Boulevard, FHP said in a news release. The teen was walking toward a high school in the area while the driver was heading west on Monarch Street.
Troopers said the driver failed to stop at a stop sign before hitting the teen and driving away.
