An 8-year-old boy was seriously hurt after getting into a crash with a Sarasota police officer while riding a dirt bike. It happened around 6:30 p.m. Monday evening in the area of 22nd Street and Maple Avenue. Details at this time are limited, though the Sarasota Police Department said an officer was leaving the scene of a different call when the collision happened.
